Lead Advisor

ELD, English, & Journalism Teacher

About Me: ProjectGET combines my passion for mentoring with my passion for learning about other cultures.  I especially enjoy helping to broaden our students' worldviews and watching them connect in life-changing ways with each other. The transformation in our students' lives is exciting to watch.  As our mentors grow in their leadership and peer-coaching skills, our mentees learn to take risks and begin to discover their potential.  As a teacher of 26 years, I can attest that it doesn't get better than that!

About Me: I studied English and linguistic language development  and upon receiving my Bachelor’s traveled to Japan to teach English.  Falling in love with the culture and teaching, I returned and earned my teaching credential and taught for two years in the North Bay.  I swore to travel internationally every year, as I see this as constant learning and growth opportunities, and have traveled and lived in fifteen countries on six continents.  This is my fourth year at Woodcreek teaching English and I’m very excited to work with language learners and the PGET team!

About Me: This is my second year at Woodcreek as a School Counselor. Before joining the Woodcreek family, I was living in Boston, Massachusetts. Growing up in a large immigrant family, I developed a strong passion for celebrating and embracing diversity. That's why I love being a part of Project - Get. This program provides students with the opportunity to develop meaningful friendships by learning about each other's cultures and backgrounds. It's one of my favorite parts of being at Woodcreek!

Angela Collao Rodriguez

Planning Team

About Me: Hi ! My name is Angela Collao and I’m in my senior year at Woodcreek. I first joined Project GET my sophomore year of high school through a friend and ever since has been such a fun, welcoming and supportive environment. Although I joined kind of late, it felt like it was perfect timing as it was a time where I felt like I didn't belong. It just comes to show how accepting and culturally diverse Project GET really is ! Outside of our club, I am co-president of the Latinx Student Union, love math, and am part of the band program. When I’m not busy with schoolwork though, I find the time to listen to music, binge watch rom-coms and spend time with my family. I am so excited to be a part of the lead team this year and plan various fun activities for all of us to do. Don’t be afraid to reach out or ask any questions you may have, everyone deserves to have someone to talk to :)
